Now Let’s Explain The Correct Way Carpet Steam Cleaning Should Be Done

Once determined you have the right man for the job you should experience a technician that explains what he is going to be doing while in your home.

Now you will witness them spraying a solution on your carpet. This solution serves two purposes. Secondly this solution will contain an antimicrobial which KILLS germs and bacteria hiding deep in your carpet.

You will now see the Carpet Steam Cleaning professional going over your carpet with a wand (shiny silver tool) with two pipes attached to it. This tool is known as a carpet cleaning wand. It serves two purposes when used properly. The first is to pump hot water (with special rinsing agents) into your carpets to rinse the carpet clear of all the dirt, chemicals and everything else mentioned earlier. The other pipe is the suction hose which sucks all that stuff out of your carpeting. This process will mostly be done using a huge petrol driven machine from the technicians vehicle commonly known as a truck mount carpet steam cleaning machine.

If the carpet is cleaned properly it will be left residue free, clean and fresh. The honest technician will leave your carpet free from harmful chemical residue that can be dangerous to a baby crawling on the carpets once they dry. Also by rinsing the carpet free from the chemical residue will stop it from re-soiling quickly…which is a very common problem amongst the amateurs in the carpet steam cleaning industry.

Now Let’s Explain The WRONG WAY Carpet Steam Cleaning Is Done

The technician will typically start selling you on extras they say you NEED. This is how they con people every day…it’s called “bait and switch.You are quoted a cheap price over the phone (much cheaper than the genuine and honest carpet steam cleaning professional) but now they’re in your home… they tell you that you NEED special stain treatment, industrial cleaners, sanitising and deodorising…and to top it of once they finish the job you will be told you should or you need scotch guarding.

So you end up spending much more than if you invested in an honest professional whose investment originally looked to be three times dearer is now looking a hundred dollars cheaper. Try not to fall for the sneaky cheap and deceptive quotes as there will always be a sneaky reason.A carpet steam cleaning technician will sometimes spray a chemical over your carpet first…usually only if you’ve agreed to pay extra from the original quote. It most likely will be an inferior cleaning agent at best… no disinfectants, sanitises or antimicrobial’s for killing germs unless you pay extra from the original quote.

You will see the same step here as before BUT with a huge difference…the carpet steam cleaning machine will usually be a much inferior “portable” machine they bring into your home which is sometimes just like those machines you can hire in the supermarkets or a cheap version of the big industrial petrol driven truck mounts the Carpet Steam Cleaning professionals have invested in. These small machines have not the power or rinsing ability of their expensive $50,000 big brothers and can’t possible do the same job.

Your carpet is now left wet…much to much moisture because the machine has not the power to suck the moisture out of the carpet. The carpet has a massive amount of chemical residue (this chemical is NOT safe even though they usually tell you it is…no chemical is safe) left because the machine has not the rinsing pressure nor the ability to rinse the carpet properly. Your carpets will now re-soil quickly because they have not been rinsed properly.

If you had the choice to start again I’m betting now you know you would ask the right questions when obtaining a quote and you would invest what may seem a little more with a true quality carpet steam cleaning professional.
